Jenny & Bim had an Amazing wedding at the Wright House. The garden setting was the perfect location for creating romantic and memorable images of the day. Even more amazing is that all the stunning details were DIY projects by the bride! Jenny’s attention to detail was amazing! {Creative} Ceremony ideas for your wedding

Today’s modern weddings are more than unity candles and sand ceremonies. (Although, I still love both those ideas and still get teary eyed during those touching moments!) Many of my brides are looking for alternatives or variations of these traditions to make their wedding more meaningful, creative and unique. That seems like a good reason for me to share some unique and creative ideas from our recent weddings. I kept the descriptions brief, so if you need more details just send me an email. To see larger images just click on the photos. :)  If you have some creative ideas to suggest visit our facebook page and tell us all about it. :)

ROW 1: Yvonne & Jonny

Yvonne & Jonny wanted to include their children in the wedding ceremony. So they gave their daughter an engraved heart locket and their son’s engraved dog tags. They children were very touched at being included breaking into tears of joy.

ROW 2: Tiffany & Paul

Tea for two; during their church ceremony Tiffany and Paul shared a glass of tea. I loved the symbolism! It was a very sweet and tender moment during their ceremony.

ROW 3 & 4 : Allison & Chase

Allison & Chase wanted to a more of a “church” feel to their wedding. So I suggested a unity cross. Although, there are pre-made crosses, it wasn’t “just right” for Allison’s wedding. Thankfully, Allison was able to have a friend custom make a cross for them. The wood represents Chase and the Iron represents Allison. Aren’t they just perfect together?

ROW 5: Heather & Mike

Heather and Mike did a wine ceremony. In this tradition you seal a bottle of wine in a box with letters to each other. Sometimes this is called and “emergency” kit. If times ever get tough you are supposed to open the box, pour yourself a bottle of wine and read your letters to each other. Heather & Mike even used their box as a guest book and had guest write messages on the box. LOVE it! J

ROW 6: Jen & Greg
Instead of lighting a unity candle Jen & Greg lit a bonfire! Later that night the bon fire was used to roast marshmallows. They were mmm good!!

ROW 7: James & Anke

Anke is from Germany so they did an old tradition where the bride and groom drink from the same cup. I don’t remember the whole story, but if you have any German heritage it’s worth looking up. :)

ROW 8: Hazel & Kevin

These images are from Hazel & Kevin’s Engagement session. Love lock’s are common in Europe and Asia. Basically, you lock a engraved lock on a gate or bridge and throw away the key. I just adore the idea and I’m dying for someone to do it during a wedding ceremony. Check out the image below of a tree you can buy for the ceremony. It even has a place for your parents and grandparents to add a lock to seal in their love too!

I love how the flowers were used as a cake topper in this image. Simply stunning!

The alternating centerpieces created great contrast and interest for the reception decor.

Even a candy station looks better with flowers on the table!

Don’t forget the boutonnieres. I simply LOVE this one!
